Wedding Cake versus Dessert Buffet...Which to Choose?
Choosing to have a smaller "cutting cake" is definitely more common with today's couples. They save money by not purchasing a large wedding cake (that many couples or guests do not like, or might not eat), and therefore are able to provide a variety of desserts from which all guests will be certain to find something that they will enjoy.
A smaller cake does not provide the wow-factor or decor statement that a larger cake might provide, but a well-designed dessert buffet table can also be a centerpiece of attention during the reception portion of the event.
Most popular wedding desserts are; mini eclairs, chocolate-covered strawberries, cookies, donuts, cupcakes, Reese's peanut butter brownies, mini tarts, mousse cups, ice cream and toppings, cake pops, etc.
A good dessert buffet will provide a balance of sweets, some chocolate, and some non-chocolate. A wide variety of dessert textures, desert portion sizes, and display pedestals all help to make the dessert table look amazing!
The dessert table size should be appropriate to the quantity of desserts that will be displayed. An over-filled dessert table looks better than one that appears too empty.
Each event provides positive memories and wonderful memories. The dessert option you provide to your guests will leave them with a lasting, sweet memory of your wedding day.
