A Sunflower Wedding

So Summery and Sweet! A Sunflower Wedding Theme

We were pleasantly surprised, when several of our 2014 brides decided to use sunflowers as their main wedding flower. Perhaps it is the 2014 trending wedding color combinations of gray, navy and yellow, that have made this happy flower stand up and be noticed. With vintage weddings still taking the lead, these flowers, reminiscent of the bright sun, carry our minds to a relaxed and happy time.

Sunflowers are absolutely perfect for a summer wedding! Just think of how fresh and fun your wedding could be with all the vibrancy the color yellow adds to your big day. Better yet, sunflowers are in season during summer, which makes them an inexpensive option!

The sunflower is named after its huge, fiery blooms, which shape and image is often used to depict the sun.

Sunflowers look great when added to other flowers, too. Consider mixing them with white, purple, or pink colors.

Wedding Invitations-Incorporating  the yellow color, or a simple sunflower design into your wedding invitations, helps begin your wedding story, that should be carried throughout your wedding signage, and branding.

The Groom- Small sunflowers, or other flowers that are similar to a sunflower, only smaller, can be a great option for your groom's boutioneer.

Bridal Bouquet- The bridal bouquet is where your wedding flower choices should originate. With all other wedding day flowers taking their lead from the bridal bouquet, the combination of additional flowers, is an important way to combine and showcase your chosen wedding colors.

Sunflowers look good to eat on desserts, cupcakes and especially on your wedding cake! If you don't want to use real sunflowers on your wedding cake or cupcakes, ask your baker to make you sugared sunflowers or marzipan sunflowers.
