Dress to Impress- Buying the Perfect Wedding Gown

While so many things make your wedding "yours", the bridal gown you choose sets the tone for your big day, and should be a match for everything "you"-that's why it's so important to buy a well-built wedding dress.
Sure, they can be pricey, but it's all about getting great style and quality. Buying a wedding  gown is like an investment beautiful memories. When a bride buys her dress, she wants to have the best memories ever, and it's not worth it to give that up.

The benefits of a well-constructed gown are evident. A really well-made dress is going to fit the body better overall. A dress that has better structure and design will highlight your figure in all the right areas-making you feel even more beautiful.

Brides of all sizes want a flattering gown. For plus-sized brides, needing the support of a comfortable and well-constructed gown, creating shape and maintaining a smooth look throughout the body, is important. Not all dresses are constructed the same.

Look for signs of quality in a gown- Proper boning for bustline and waistline support, superior fabric that's not flimsy or brittle, ample lining to help full-skirt styles get and keep their shape, finished seams, hems and linings, and beading and embellishments that are sewn, not glued.

Quality construction is vital in your wedding dress. Remember that you'll be wearing this dress your entire wedding day, so it should be well constructed-it shouldn't be something that you are constantly having to pull up or pull down, or be of low-quality fabrics, which can irritate.

In addition to a well-crafted gown, you need the right undergarments. A bustier will offer the needed support if the bride has a larger bust. In addition, a crinoline or slip will give more volume to the skirt and provide a barrier between her legs and the dress-making it easier to walk.

Since buying a wedding gown is a new experience, you may have lots of questions about the process. A big misconception is the idea that you can't wear a certain style because of your figure. White it is true that certain dress styles work better on some body types, you certainly should try on several different styles to find what looks and feels right for you. Just because you have a ball-gown style in mind and think it will look great on you, you might be surprised to find that a mermaid-style works even better, so take the time to let you bridal gown consultant help you find the perfect gown for you.

It is also important to be realistic about what you can afford. Stay within the budget you have allowed yourself. Don't rush the process. You are a bride once and the process can be overwhelming. Allow yourself time to discovering the type of bride you want to be is critical-every bride has a love story, so allow your dress to tell a  story as well. Ordering a gown can take six to eight months, so be sure to build that time into your wedding timeline to keep your dress experience as stress free as possible.
